To clear leg veins, the vessels must be constricted. A wavelength laser sends energy into the blood and vessel walls, where it is absorbed by hemoglobin. The hemoglobin is heated by the absorption of energy, and the vessel coagulates and closes off. The constricted vessel then degenerates, and the visible leg veins disappear from the surface of the skin.

The 1064nm wavelength is optimal for the deeper absorption of light in blood vessels. A variety of spot sizes and energy options provides for effective treatment of both the smaller red and larger purple or blue reticular vessels.
