| Sarah Shapiro-Barnard, LCSW, is a yoga teacher, popular workshop leader and an author. She is a teacher of perennial philosophy: connecting the river of Truth that flows beneath all spiritual paths. Her book "Divine Intervention: Spiritual Teachings for the New Millennium" published in 2001, connects modern psychology and metaphysical principles. She is the creator of the Chakra Healing Audio Series and the director of Fresh Yoga Studio, Ontario, and Canada. Her publications are all available on Amazon.com. Sarah’s teaching style integrates Astanga yoga flow and Iyengar yoga precision. Her classes are also a forum for learning the practical applications of yoga philosophy and modern psychology in daily life. Sarah hopes to inspire her students to live with more inner peace and joy. Sarah received her yoga teachers training at the Integral Yoga Institute, New York, in 1993. In 2000, she completed an Astanga yoga teacher training program with master teacher Beryl Birch Bender. Sarah is a devoted yogi and she has studied yoga for over 20 years with master teachers such as: Patabi Jois, Dharma Mittra, David Life, Sharon Gannon, Cyndi Lee and Rodney Yee. Sarah's professional training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy includes a 2 year Masters Program, MSW, 2 years of clinical Post Graduate Training and the Fifth Avenue Center for Counselling and Psychotherapy, NY, and 6 years of weekly clinical supervision for her private practice. Sarah specializes in psycho-somatic release work and Jungian archetypal psychology. She also studied with renowned healer, Julie Winter, to integrate her skills as a medical intuitive.
